Webmasters Tips - Marketing Tips Publish a Newsletter There is no better way to market to both prospects and clients than to publish a online newsletter. Simply write out a few paragraphs of information about your products or services, unique viewpoints on your business industry, express how your products and services help consumers and give testimonials. The purpose in creating a newsletter is to establish a dialogue with your current and future customers. If you don't write one, it is much hard to develop trust which will severely limit your capacity to perform business over the Web. Copyright © 2000 - 2006 by [Webcraft.ws]. All rights reserved. Research shows that the number one complaint is slow web pages. | | | Studies have shown that visitors will start to leave a site after waiting for more than 10 seconds for a page to load. Jupiter Media Metrix says (Sep 2001) that 40% of surfers in the USA visit web sites more often if the pages load faster. The load time of a Web site depends on each visitor's connection speed. Remember that not all surfers have a cable modem or ISDN connection to the internet. In fact most still use 56K modems and over 10% still use 28K or lower speed modems. One of the coolest designs a web site can have is Flash, but beware they slow down load time and even worse not all people can use Flash in their browser. Most surfers don't care if your site has all the fancy designs on the internet, they just want good products and/or services from you. Large images or lots of images on the same page can really slow down a web page. You should keep your images small and not larger than what they need to be. Use image compression programs, compression software reduce the image's size, but they also cause it to lose the image's quality. Keep your web pages small as possible. A large web page will take a longer time to load. If you wrote a large article, brake it up into two web pages, instead of one large page. Surfers tend to dislike long articles anyway and hate having to scroll down the page. Java scripts are very popular and are known to cause problems for surfers. They slow web pages down and can even cause a browser to crash. If your sites causes some ones browser to crash, they likely won't return to your site ever, for the fear it will happen again. Although this isn't everything, this should have at least got you started in speeding up your site.
